From Babysitter to Bonding Associate Dentists and Practice Owners
The Morgan Story
“Some of the worst things to happen to you could be one of the best things to happen to someone else.”
That’s a line many dentists have heard Dr. Paul “Nacho” Goodman say on and off stage. Over the years, it’s become closely associated with what’s now known as The Morgan Story: a reminder that growth, opportunity, and the RIGHT people often show up in unexpected ways.
An Unexpected Beginning
More than six years ago, Dentist Job Connect didn’t exist. Dental Nachos was still growing. And Morgan, now a National Account Manager at Dentist Job Connect, was simply a college senior responding to a Facebook ad for babysitters in Philadelphia.
“I had zero idea what Dental Nachos was,” Morgan says. “I was just a senior in college trying to make some extra money.”
At the time, Paul (“Dr. Nacho”) and Mary’s kids were young, and Morgan quickly became a trusted part of their family as their go-to babysitter. When COVID hit, and in-person classes disappeared, Morgan spent even more time with the Nacho family, often caring for the kids while Paul and Mary were traveling or working long days building their companies.
That proximity offered something rare: a behind-the-scenes look at entrepreneurship in dentistry.
“I had a front-row seat watching them work incredibly hard to build companies that supported dentists in meaningful ways,” Morgan shares.
From Helping Out to Being Part of the Mission
With a small team and big ideas, Paul eventually asked Morgan if she’d help with social media for Dental Nachos.
“That’s when I really started to understand how passionate Paul was about supporting dentists,” Morgan says. “Balancing babysitting, Dental Nachos, and college during COVID gave me learning experiences I’ll always be grateful for.”
Those lessons would matter more than anyone realized at the time.
The Beginning of Dentist Job Connect
After graduating, Morgan made a huge move and relocated to San Diego for a fresh start. By then, Dentist Job Connect had begun to take shape as its own company, created to solve a growing problem: helping practice owners find the RIGHT associate dentists to help them fuel practice growth, and give them more free time and fewer hygiene checks.
Morgan joined the team remotely, working with practices across the country.
“I’ve learned how critical it is to find the RIGHT associate,” Morgan explains. “Not just someone who can produce, but someone who aligns in culture, communication, clinical skills, and values.”
Why the “Morgan Story” Matters to Practice Owners
At a recent AAID conference workshop in Phoenix, Dr. Nacho once again shared the Morgan Story. He asked the audience how they’d feel if the person who helped preserve their sanity and took care of the most important people in their life suddenly moved across the country.
One audience member joked, “They’d be dead to me.”
Fortunately, Morgan is very much alive and is still an integral part of Dentist Job Connect, just from across the country.
The humor lands, but the lesson is serious: the RIGHT person changes everything.
Dr. Nacho often says an associate dentist should be someone who keeps you sane, helps you grow, supports your success, and becomes part of your dental family. That philosophy is at the core of how Dentist Job Connect helps practices hire.
Growing Together
Today, Morgan works closely with dental practices to help them hire their associate dentists, guiding them through a process that prioritizes connection over shortcuts.
“I’ve connected with incredible dental professionals and seen firsthand how the RIGHT associate can transform a practice,” she says. “I’m excited to keep growing this company and supporting this amazing community.”
And while Morgan may no longer be accepting babysitting applications, her story remains a reminder of what Dentist Job Connect stands for: relationships first and long-term success over quick fixes.
