Building Stronger Teams Through Connection

Last month, our team had the honor of speaking at a special gathering hosted by the North American Society of Periodontists (NASP): a group of highly respected clinicians dedicated to advancing periodontal care and supporting the growth of practices nationwide.

This opportunity came through a connection between Dr. Brown, a distinguished leader in periodontics and implant dentistry, and our founder, Dr. Goodman. Alongside Kate Worth, Director of Sales, and Kari Smith, Culture Consultant from Opal Effect Consulting, our team spoke in the heart of Philadelphia and led a discussion on a topic we believe is foundational to every successful practice: team harmony through optimal communication.

What stood out most about this experience was the setting. Unlike large conferences, this was a smaller, more intimate group, creating space for deeper conversations, honest dialogue, and meaningful feedback. Rather than simply presenting, we were able to engage directly with periodontists, hear their challenges, and explore solutions together in real time.

That level of connection is where real impact happens. Kari Smith reflected on the experience by saying:

“At the end of the day, dentists are humans too. Any time we can be a part of creating spaces where they can be humans who are navigating leadership, it brings our mission to life in a really powerful way.”

This is exactly what this event represented.

Beyond the teams’ presentations, it was an opportunity to build relationships within the perio community, learn from experienced practitioners, and hear firsthand the stories shaping today’s dental landscape.

At Dentist Job Connect, we believe that strong practices are built on more than clinical excellence. They’re built on communication, alignment, and a shared sense of purpose between owners and associates. We’re incredibly grateful to Dr. Brown and the members of NASP for welcoming us into their community and allowing us to contribute to such an important conversation. As we continue to engage with dental professionals across the country, moments like these reinforce our commitment to what matters most: connection, community, and helping practices thrive from the inside out.

If you’re thinking about hiring an associate dentist—or wondering if your current associate is truly the RIGHT fit—we’re here to help. Connect with the Dentist Job Connect team here!
